Clemson Commencement: December 2026 Schedule and Littlejohn Coliseum

Four ceremonies, two days, one building

Clemson does not hold a single December commencement. It holds four, and the difference matters for anyone booking a flight.

Doctoral candidates go first, on their own day: 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday 16 December 2026. Everyone else graduates on Thursday 17 December, in three sittings at 9:00 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. All four ceremonies are in Littlejohn Coliseum at 219 Perimeter Road, on the western edge of campus.

The Thursday sittings are divided by college, not by surname and not by degree level. Clemson publishes the split, and it is worth reading rather than assuming, because the groupings are not fixed year to year. A family that books a Thursday afternoon flight on the assumption of a 1:30 p.m. ceremony, and then finds their graduate is in the 6:00 p.m. sitting, has a problem that no amount of planning at the hotel end will fix.

What the two-day shape does to a trip

A single-ceremony campus asks for one night. Clemson’s December round can ask for two or three, depending on who is graduating.

If you are attending only one of the Thursday sittings, the ceremony is roughly two hours by the university’s own estimate, and the practical question is whether you drive in the morning of or the night before. The 9:00 a.m. sitting in the third week of December is a poor candidate for driving in that morning, particularly from Greenville or Anderson on a weekday.

If you are attending both a doctoral ceremony on Wednesday and an undergraduate one on Thursday, you are committed to two ceremony days and at least two nights, and the booking window closes on you sooner than the calendar suggests.

Spring 2027 does not exist yet

Clemson’s Upcoming Graduation Schedules page still carries one line about May: “Clemson’s Spring 2027 graduation schedule TBA.” That was true when we checked on 6 August 2026.

We say this bluntly because spring dates for Clemson circulate anyway. A date sourced from an aggregator, a forum, or a pattern drawn from previous years is not a published date, and this project does not carry one until the university does. When Clemson publishes, this page changes.

What we checked, and what we could not

The dates, times, venue and college split come from Clemson’s own December commencement page, read on 6 August 2026. Both weekdays were cross-checked against the calendar: 16 December 2026 is a Wednesday and 17 December is a Thursday, matching the university’s own labels. That check exists because a date carried forward from a previous year almost always fails it, and it has caught nine wrong dates on this project so far.

What we could not confirm: parking arrangements, ticket limits and doors-open times for the December round, none of which Clemson had published at the time of this check. Rather than repeat last year’s numbers as though they were this year’s, those are absent from this page.
