Oregon State graduates its whole class in one university-wide ceremony at Reser Stadium on Saturday 12 June 2027, and it publishes the entire arrival sequence: gates open at 9:00 a.m., the processional begins at 10:00 a.m. and enters the stadium at 10:30, and the ceremony itself starts at 11:00 a.m. That two-hour gap between gates and ceremony is the most useful fact here. Two things make this cluster unusually easy. There are NO tickets and NO guest limit, which OSU states outright. And there is exactly ONE ceremony a year: candidates finishing in summer 2026, fall 2026, winter 2027, spring 2027 and summer 2027 are all invited to this one, so there is no December round to weigh up. One thing to set expectations on before you travel: apart from doctoral candidates, graduates do not cross the stage or have their names read.

The date is confirmed, and so is every minute of the morning

Saturday 12 June 2027, Reser Stadium, Corvallis.

A note on sources. Oregon State’s commencement site refuses ordinary automated clients with a 403, which can look like a site that has nothing to say. It is not: read through a text-extraction proxy it returns in full, and it is genuinely on the 2027 cycle rather than a year behind. The date, the venue and the full arrival sequence are all published there.

Here is what it publishes, which is more than most universities on this site manage:

Time What happens
9:00 a.m. Gates open for guest seating
10:00 a.m. Processional begins
10:30 a.m. Processional enters Reser Stadium
11:00 a.m. Ceremony begins

Read the first and last rows together. Gates open two hours before the ceremony starts. Seating is first come, first served with no reserved seating, so those two hours are a genuine trade-off: arrive at nine and choose your seats, or arrive at half ten and take what is left, in a stadium where some seats are in full sun and others in shade.

For a family staying outside Corvallis, an 11 a.m. ceremony is comfortable. For one that wants to sit together, a 9 a.m. arrival is the real start time, and that changes which night you book.

One ceremony a year, and it swallows five terms

This is the cleanest answer to the December question anywhere in this audit, because OSU states it rather than leaving it to be worked out.

Candidates graduating in summer 2026, fall 2026, winter 2027, spring 2027 and summer 2027 are all invited to the 2027 Commencement ceremony.

Five completion terms, one ceremony. There is no December round, no winter round and no separate summer round to weigh up. If your graduate finishes their degree in December, this June date is their ceremony, and it is nearly six months after they stop being a student.

The single ceremony also means there is no per-college schedule to chase. One university-wide event covers every OSU graduate, including Ecampus students, which is what Reser Stadium’s capacity is for.

No tickets, no guest limit

Also stated outright, and rare enough to be worth a heading: “Tickets are not required. There is no guest limit for the OSU Commencement ceremony.”

Most clusters in this audit cap guests somewhere between six and ten per graduate. Oregon State caps them at nothing. The constraint on how many people come is your lodging budget and the drive, not the university.

The expectation to reset before you book flights

One line in OSU’s FAQ will matter more to some families than everything above:

“Due to time constraints and number of graduates, other than the doctoral candidates, graduates do not walk across the stage or have their names read.”

If the moment you are travelling for is hearing a name called and watching a walk across a stage, that does not happen here unless the graduate is a doctoral candidate. It is better to know that now than from a seat in the stadium.

Getting in and getting parked

  • Three gates, and they are not interchangeable. All open at 9 a.m. Gate B is on the Parker Plaza side, Gate G on the parking lot side, and Gate C is designated for guests with mobility concerns or disabilities, closest to the elevator and escalators. Strollers must be checked at Gate B.
  • Clear bag policy, with security searching clear bags, strollers and wheelchairs at entry. There is no bag check at Commencement, so a guest who arrives with a prohibited bag has to walk it back to the car.
  • Seating is first come, first served on both sides of the stadium. Accessible seating is available throughout, with a designated section and the Toyota Club as options.
  • Parking is free on Commencement Day, and the Beaver Shuttle runs across campus and to the stadium from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • 26th Street closes to vehicles from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. between Western Blvd and Campus Way. That is precisely the arrival window, so route around it rather than through it.
  • Rain or shine. Open umbrellas are not allowed inside; umbrellas must fit in a clear bag and stay shut. Ponchos are sold at the OSU Beaver Store on the main concourse, and sunscreen is worth packing for the same event.

One caveat on the parking detail: OSU’s parking page is current, but the maps it links are 2026 documents. Expect the same shape and check the 2027 map when it is posted.

OSU-Cascades has not published 2027

Oregon State’s Bend campus, OSU-Cascades, holds its own ceremony on the Oval Green rather than travelling to Corvallis.

Its 2027 date is not published. The OSU-Cascades commencement page is still showing 2026: Sunday 14 June 2026, gates at 9 a.m., ceremony at 10 a.m.

A note for anyone who has read otherwise, because this cluster’s own handover got it wrong: in 2026 the 13th of June was the Corvallis ceremony and Cascades was on the 14th. Neither is a 2027 date, and we are not projecting one.

What we checked, and what we could not

The date, venue, full timing sequence, ticket policy, eligibility terms, stage policy, gates, bag rules, seating and parking all come from Oregon State’s own commencement site, its Know Before You Go page, its FAQs and its parking page, all read on 18 August 2026. The weekday was checked independently: 12 June 2027 is a Saturday.

Not published: the 2027 parking and shuttle maps, which are still the 2026 versions; the OSU-Cascades 2027 date; and any college-level or departmental ceremony, which do not exist in this format.

Not measured: hotel availability. The ceremony is ten months out, and a single reading at that range is one uncontrolled observation rather than a measurement, so this site does not publish it. What Corvallis’s market actually looks like against a class topping 8,700 is on the where to stay page.

Frequently asked questions

When is Oregon State's commencement?

Saturday 12 June 2027 at Reser Stadium in Corvallis, confirmed on OSU's own commencement site, which is genuinely on the 2027 cycle rather than a year behind. We checked the weekday and 12 June 2027 is a Saturday.

What time should we arrive?

Gates open at 9:00 a.m. and the ceremony begins at 11:00 a.m., with the processional starting at 10:00 a.m. and entering the stadium at 10:30. Seating is first come, first served with no reserved seating, so the earlier you arrive the better your choice, but plan for a long wait.

Do we need tickets, and is there a guest limit?

No to both. OSU states it plainly: "Tickets are not required. There is no guest limit for the OSU Commencement ceremony." That is unusual and it means the constraint on your party size is lodging, not the university.

Is there a December or winter ceremony?

No. OSU holds one ceremony a year and folds five completion terms into it: candidates graduating in summer 2026, fall 2026, winter 2027, spring 2027 and summer 2027 are all invited to the 2027 ceremony. If your graduate finishes in December, this June date is their ceremony.

Will our graduate's name be read?

Only for doctoral candidates. OSU states that because of time constraints and the number of graduates, other than doctoral candidates "graduates do not walk across the stage or have their names read". Worth knowing before you fly in expecting that moment.

Which gate should we use?

All gates open at 9 a.m. Gate B is on the Parker Plaza side, Gate G on the parking lot side, and Gate C is designated for guests with mobility concerns or disabilities and is closest to the elevator and escalators. Strollers must be checked at Gate B.

What about bags and umbrellas?

A clear bag policy applies and security searches clear bags, strollers and wheelchairs at the gates. There is no bag check at Commencement, so anything that fails goes back to the car. The ceremony is rain or shine, open umbrellas are not permitted inside, and ponchos are sold at the OSU Beaver Store on the main concourse.

What about parking?

Free on Commencement Day. Note that 26th Street closes to vehicles from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. between Western Blvd and Campus Way, which is exactly your arrival window, and the Beaver Shuttle runs across campus and to the stadium from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

What about OSU-Cascades in Bend?

Not published for 2027. OSU-Cascades holds its own ceremony on the Oval Green in Bend, but its page is still showing the 2026 one. Do not assume a date for it.
