Tuskegee graduates twice in spring 2027, a week apart, and getting the two rounds mixed up is the expensive mistake on this cluster. Graduate and Professional School Commencement is Saturday 1 May 2027. Undergraduate Spring Commencement is Saturday 8 May 2027. The undergraduate round is not a single Saturday: Tuskegee's own academic calendar puts a commencement rehearsal on Thursday 6 May and five school-level ceremonies through Friday 7 May, from an 8 a.m. Teacher Induction to a 5 p.m. Social Work pinning, so a family is realistically in town from Thursday. There is no December ceremony at all, which we confirmed by reading the calendar's whole December section rather than by failing to find one. No venue is published for either round.

Both come from Tuskegee’s own 2026-2027 academic calendar, and both weekday labels were checked.
Both are confirmed and both are printed plainly in the same document. The undergraduate round is the one most families on this page are travelling for, and a week is a long way to be wrong by.
Neither ceremony has a published venue. Neither has a published start time, which is odd given that the calendar gives times for every surrounding event.
The undergraduate round is three days, not one
If you are booking around Saturday 8 May alone, you are probably booking too few nights.

The Friday events are the ones that change the trip. A pinning ceremony, a white coat ceremony and a commissioning ceremony are attended by families, not by administrators, and for a nursing or ROTC graduate the Friday event is frequently the more personal of the two days.
So the realistic shape for an undergraduate family is Thursday to Saturday, and for a family in one of those five schools it is not optional.
One more thing lands on the Saturday: residence halls close at 6 p.m. that day. Whoever is moving a graduate out is doing it on ceremony day, in whatever vehicle they arrived in. That is worth knowing before you book a compact rental car for a three-day trip.
The graduate round is the quiet one
Saturday 1 May has none of that structure around it. The calendar lists the ceremony and nothing else: no rehearsal, no school ceremonies, no published time.
For a graduate or professional-school family that is genuinely simpler. One day, one event, and a market that is not simultaneously absorbing the undergraduate crowd, because the undergraduate crowd arrives the following Thursday.
If you have flexibility, that is the easier of the two weekends to be in this part of Alabama.
There is no December ceremony, and we checked properly
Most clusters on this site turned out to be missing a December round. Tuskegee genuinely does not have one.
We read the entire December 2026 section of the academic calendar rather than searching it for the word “commencement”, because a search that finds nothing and an absence that is real look identical from the outside. December runs: classes end on the 2nd, final examinations from the 4th to the 9th, residence halls close on the 12th, faculty grades due on the 16th, winter break from the 18th.
No ceremony. If you are a December completer, your ceremony is one of the two in May.

Day-of-week labels in the calendar were checked against the calendar: 1 May 2027 Saturday, 6 May Thursday, 7 May Friday, 8 May Saturday.

Is there a December commencement?
No. This is a checked absence rather than a gap in our search. We read the whole December section of Tuskegee's academic calendar: classes end 2 December, exams run 4 to 9 December, residence halls close on the 12th, grades are due on the 16th and winter break starts on the 18th. There is no ceremony of any kind.
Where are the ceremonies held?
Tuskegee has not published a venue for either 2027 round. The Chappie James Center is where the May 2026 undergraduate ceremony was held, and we are not carrying a past round's building forward onto a future one.
What time do the two commencements start?
Not published. The calendar gives times for the Thursday rehearsal and for all five Friday ceremonies, and gives none for either commencement itself, which is an unusual gap and worth watching for.
When do the residence halls close?
Saturday 8 May, check-out by 6 p.m., the same day as undergraduate commencement. A family helping move a graduate out is doing it on ceremony day.
