It is worth being explicit about where that date lives, because the obvious place does not have it. USC’s commencement site is still on the 2026 cycle and carries no 2027 date. The academic calendar does.
A week, and an unusually big one
USC does not hold a graduation ceremony. It holds a graduation week.
Its own description of the most recent cycle gives the scale: “more than 100 commencement events” conferring over 18,000 degrees. Schools, departments and programmes each run their own, spread across the days.
The practical consequence is that “when is USC commencement” has no single answer for your family. Which day you need depends on your graduate’s school, and USC has not published the 2027 per-event schedule.
The Main Stage day is not published, and this page will not guess
In the 2026 cycle the Main Stage Commencement Ceremony was held at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, during a Commencement Week that ran 13 to 16 May.
The 2027 week is 12 to 15 May. It would be easy to pick the equivalent day inside it and present that as the Main Stage date. That would be an invention, and this site does not make them.
So: the week is confirmed, the day inside it is not, and the venue is not confirmed for 2027 either.
UCLA is a month later
UCLA’s College Commencement weekend is 11 to 13 June 2027, roughly a month after USC.
Los Angeles gets two separate graduation waves rather than one. For booking that is good news in both directions: a USC family is not competing with UCLA, and vice versa. UCLA’s detail is on its own page.

The 2026-2027 block carries the 12 to 15 May range, and the block boundary was verified by checking the following year, which reads “Commencement | Fri | May 12” for 2028 and is a different shape. USC’s commencement site was read the same day and is on the 2026 cycle.
