Two weekends, one building, from the registrar

UCM’s registrar pages give both rounds as Friday-Saturday pairs. “December 11 & 12, 2026 - Fall 2026 Commencement ceremonies.” “May 7 & 8, 2027 - Spring Commencement ceremonies.”

Both weekends check out: 11 December 2026 is a Friday, 7 May 2027 is a Friday. And the building is stated for all of them. The guest page: “All commencement ceremonies are held in the Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center.” The spring schedule page repeats it for May 2027.

That is more than most universities have published nine months out: the dates and the venue for two rounds.

What is still TBD

The per-ceremony schedule. UCM splits its ceremonies by school across the Friday and the Saturday, and on the spring schedule page every time reads TBD. The December schedule was not posted either. So a family knows the weekend and the building, and waits for the day and the hour.

Spring 2026 ran 8-9 May, honouring more than 2,000 individuals, and is the pattern.

Rules the guest page states

“Tickets are not required and seating is on a first come first served basis.” “There is no charge for commencement parking,” with accessible spaces east and west of the center. “The live stream for each ceremony will begin approximately 20 minutes prior to the ceremony start time.”

One name, two labels

The Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center was the Multipurpose Building until it was renamed for UCM’s former athletic director. Older pages, maps and directions may use the old name. It is the same building.

The nights, and the town

The Friday night for everyone, and the Saturday held refundably until the schedule posts. Warrensburg’s hotels are on the north side, two to three miles out, and UCM’s own guest page lists Sedalia hotels alongside them; the where to stay page has the detail.
