The ring
| Town | Drive time | Typical availability | Rate vs. epicenter |
|---|---|---|---|
| Washington, NCCheck rooms in Washington, NC → | 25 min | 8 bookable properties on a live check for the same window. Small, and listed because it is the CLOSEST option on the ladder at about twenty-five minutes rather than because it is deep. | Small-town tier, limited choice. |
| Wilson, NCCheck rooms in Wilson, NC → | 40 min | 16 bookable properties on a live check for the December window on 12 August 2026, none flagged sold out. Slightly deeper than Greenville itself, which is unusual for a ring town. | Broad chain tier, generally below Greenville. |
| New Bern, NCCheck rooms in New Bern, NC → | 45 min | 35 bookable properties on a live check for the same window, the deepest option on this ladder by a wide margin and nearly three times Greenville's count. | Wide, from budget chains to riverfront historic-district properties. |
Counts come from a live per-window availability check run on 12 August 2026 for the two nights spanning the December ceremony. Two results are worth reading carefully: NEW BERN, at 35 properties, is nearly three times deeper than Greenville itself because it is a tourist town rather than an overflow suburb, and WASHINGTON at about twenty-five minutes is the closest option and had never been carried. Kinston was tested and holds 5.
