Kansas State holds its Manhattan campus commencement across two days, Friday 14 and Saturday 15 May 2027, at Bramlage Coliseum. The university's own academic calendar states the span as "Friday-Saturday", and the college-by-college assignment for 2027 had not been published when we checked on 7 August 2026. That assignment is the thing to chase, because a Friday ceremony and a Saturday one need different arrival nights and Manhattan has no near fallback town if you get it wrong: Topeka is 56 minutes away and Kansas City 105. K-State runs a separate Salina campus ceremony for its College of Technology and Aviation, on a different date entirely. The nearer round is Fall 2026, also at Bramlage: the Graduate School on Friday 11 December at 1:00 p.m., and the colleges on Saturday 12 December at 8:30 a.m., 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

The next round: Fall 2026, 11 and 12 December
K-State’s Fall 2026 Commencement Schedule gives every Manhattan ceremony a time, all at Bramlage Coliseum:
| When | Who |
|---|---|
| Fri 11 Dec, 1:00 p.m. | Graduate School |
| Sat 12 Dec, 8:30 a.m. | Applied and Professional Studies; Architecture, Planning and Design; Arts and Sciences; Education |
| Sat 12 Dec, 11 a.m. | Business Administration; Agriculture |
| Sat 12 Dec, 1:30 p.m. | Engineering; Health and Human Sciences |
A Saturday 8:30 a.m. start with no fallback town closer than 56 minutes is the case for the Friday night; that reading is ours, not K-State’s. The Salina ceremony (College of Technology and Aviation, Friday 11 December at 7:00 p.m.) is a different campus and not covered here.
Two days at Bramlage
Kansas State’s Manhattan campus commencement runs Friday 14 and Saturday 15 May 2027, at Bramlage Coliseum, 1800 College Avenue.
The university’s own academic calendar gives the span plainly as “14-15, Friday-Saturday, Manhattan Campus Commencement”. We re-read it on 7 August 2026 and cross-checked both weekdays: 14 May 2027 is a Friday and 15 May is a Saturday.
Ceremonies are divided by college across those two days. K-State had not published the 2027 college-by-college assignment at the time of this check, so which day belongs to your graduate comes from their college rather than from the calendar.
Why guessing the day is expensive here
At most campuses in this project, booking the wrong night is an annoyance you fix by driving twenty minutes.
Manhattan has no twenty-minute option. Topeka is 56 minutes away and Kansas City 105. So a family that assumes Saturday, books Saturday, and then learns their college goes on the Friday is not making a small adjustment. They are either finding a room in a town that has already absorbed a graduation weekend, or adding an hour of driving in each direction.
That makes the college schedule the single highest-value thing to establish before booking anything, and it is worth chasing well before you look at hotels.
The Salina ceremony is a different event
Worth its own note, because the two appear on the same calendar and are easy to conflate.
K-State’s College of Technology and Aviation graduates at the Salina campus, on its own date, separate from the Manhattan ceremonies above. Salina is roughly two hours from Manhattan.
If that is your ceremony, none of the lodging guidance in this cluster applies to you, because this cluster is anchored on Manhattan. The calendar entry for Salina also carries a weekday that does not match its date, which is a formatting artifact in the published PDF rather than a real ambiguity, so confirm the Salina date with the college directly.
What we checked, and what we could not
The dates, the two-day span, the venue and the existence of a separate Salina ceremony all come from Kansas State’s own registrar academic calendar, read on 7 August 2026. Both Manhattan weekdays were cross-checked independently against the calendar and match. That check exists because a date carried forward from a previous year almost always fails it, and it has caught nine wrong dates on this project.
It also caught something on this document. The calendar’s Salina line reads “9, Saturday”, and 9 May 2027 is a Sunday. That is a table-extraction artifact rather than a claim by the university, and it is why this page does not print a Salina date.
What we could not establish: the 2027 college-by-college ceremony schedule, start times, doors-open times, ticket limits per graduate, and the Salina ceremony’s confirmed date. None had been published in a form we could read, so none appear here.

Frequently asked questions
What is the next K-State ceremony, and what time is it?
Fall 2026, at Bramlage Coliseum. Friday 11 December: Graduate School at 1:00 p.m. Saturday 12 December: 8:30 a.m. for the Colleges of Applied and Professional Studies, Architecture, Planning and Design, Arts and Sciences, and Education; 11 a.m. for Business Administration and Agriculture; 1:30 p.m. for Engineering and Health and Human Sciences. K-State's schedule says each ceremony is livestreamed. The College of Technology and Aviation holds its own ceremony in Salina on Friday 11 December at 7:00 p.m.
When is K-State's 2027 commencement?
Friday 14 and Saturday 15 May 2027, at Bramlage Coliseum on the Manhattan campus. K-State's own academic calendar lists "14-15, Friday-Saturday, Manhattan Campus Commencement". Re-read 7 August 2026, both weekdays cross-checked.
Which day is my graduate's ceremony?
By college, and the 2027 assignment was not published at the time of this check. Ask the college directly. With no fallback town closer than 56 minutes, guessing wrong here is more expensive than at most campuses.
Where is Bramlage Coliseum?
1800 College Avenue, Manhattan, Kansas, on the K-State campus. It is the basketball arena, which is what allows the university to run large ceremonies indoors.
What about the Salina campus?
Separate. K-State's College of Technology and Aviation holds its own commencement at the Salina campus on a different date. Salina is about two hours from Manhattan, so if that is your ceremony, none of the lodging guidance in this cluster applies.
How many nights will I need?
Two for most families, and decide only once you know which day. With Topeka 56 minutes out and Kansas City 105, driving in on the morning of a ceremony is a poor plan from anywhere except Manhattan itself.
