Marshall’s Winter Commencement Exercises are Saturday, December 12, 2026, at the Marshall Health Network Arena in downtown Huntington. That comes directly from the university’s own commencement page.

Two things that page did not carry at the time of this check: a start time, and any spring 2027 date. Both matter for planning, and neither is something we are willing to infer from a previous year — a ceremony time carried forward from an old programme is exactly the kind of detail that looks authoritative and turns out to be wrong.

A winter ceremony is a smaller one

It is worth setting expectations honestly, because the rest of this site is built around scarcity and this cluster is a milder case.

Winter commencements are generally smaller than spring ones — fewer graduates, fewer travelling families, and a city that is not simultaneously hosting anything else. Huntington has a working downtown hotel cluster and three states’ inventory inside a half-hour. We graded booking pressure below the top of our scale accordingly.

What remains true is that the arena is downtown, and the hotels you can walk to it from are a short list. The pressure here is on convenience rather than availability, which is a real thing to plan around but a different thing from a sellout.

Where the 2027 spring date will appear

Marshall points enquiries at its commencement office, and its commencement page is the single source worth watching for both the December ceremony times and the spring 2027 date.

We will re-check it as part of this project’s scheduled reverification rather than leaving it to go stale, and this page will say so when it changes. Until then, the honest position is that you have a confirmed date and venue, no confirmed time, and no spring date at all — and you are better served knowing that than being given a plausible guess.
