McNeese's commencement page carries a Fall 2026 table with three rows that matter. GradFest: "Wednesday, November 18, 2026", "10:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.", Richard Student Union Memorial Ballroom. Rehearsals: "Thursday, December 17, 2026", "Times [to be determined]", "Townsley Law Arena (formerly Legacy Center)", "700 E. McNeese St. Lake Charles, LA 70607". Ceremonies: "Friday, December 18, 2026", "Times [to be determined]", same venue. 18 December 2026 is a Friday. The table adds: "Graduates must arrive 45 minutes prior to their ceremony."; "Doors open for guests 1½ hours prior to each ceremony."; "Tickets are not required for guest admission."; and "The commencement ceremonies will be livestreamed on the McNeese YouTube channel for guests who are unable to attend in person." Spring 2027 is not published. Read on 23 September 2026.

The date is fixed, the hours are not
McNeese publishes its commencement as a table, and for Fall 2026 it reads: rehearsals “Thursday, December 17, 2026”, ceremonies “Friday, December 18, 2026”, both in the Townsley Law Arena (formerly Legacy Center) at 700 E. McNeese St., and against both, “Times [to be determined]”.
18 December 2026 is a Friday. What is not settled is the hour, and the page says ceremonies rather than ceremony, so there is more than one. Until the university posts the schedule, a family cannot know whether they are in the arena at nine in the morning or two in the afternoon.
What that means for the day
Two rules from the same table tell you how the morning runs. “Graduates must arrive 45 minutes prior to their ceremony.” And for everyone else: “Doors open for guests 1½ hours prior to each ceremony.”
Ninety minutes is a long door window, and it exists because of the next line: “Tickets are not required for guest admission.” Nothing limits how many people come, so the seats go to whoever is there early. If your graduate draws a morning slot, the family is on campus not much after eight.
Rehearsal takes the Thursday
Rehearsals are the day before in the same arena, times also to be announced. A graduate travelling in on Friday morning misses them, which is the practical reason the Thursday night is the booking most families need.
Earlier in the term, GradFest on “Wednesday, November 18, 2026”, 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Richard Student Union Memorial Ballroom, is where graduates deal with regalia and paperwork.
Watch this one page
Everything above comes from a single McNeese page, and that page is where the missing hours will appear. This site’s next review of the cluster is set for the start of November, before the December round, to capture the times and any college split. If you are booking now, the where to stay page has the three Prien Lake Road hotels, two to four miles from the arena, and the ring through Sulphur into Texas.
Livestreamed, either way
“The commencement ceremonies will be livestreamed on the McNeese YouTube channel for guests who are unable to attend in person.” Worth passing on to relatives before the day, particularly while the start time is still unknown.
