12 May 2027 is a Wednesday. 13 May is a Thursday. The calendar’s own day labels agree with its dates, which is the check this site runs on every published date and the one that catches a year copied wrong. It passed.
The midweek date is the thing to absorb first. It is not a quirk of 2027: Spring 2026 ran Wednesday 13 and Thursday 14 May. For a family it means two weekdays off work, flights on days that price differently, and a town whose lodging is competing with business travellers rather than weekend visitors.
What 2026 looked like
NSU’s Spring 2026 schedule document is the best guide to the shape of the round without being a promise about 2027. The ceremonies ran across Wednesday 13 and Thursday 14 May 2026 at Prather Coliseum, with the colleges assigned to days and times. NSU’s press room reported 890 degrees awarded to 860 graduates.
Two things follow. The day your graduate walks depends on their college and is decided by the university’s schedule, not by preference. And the class is small enough that Natchitoches can hold most of it, if families book early.
What is not published, and is not guessed
The 2027 college-by-day schedule. The times. The venue. Prather Coliseum hosted 2026 and would be a reasonable guess for 2027; this site does not publish reasonable guesses about buildings.
