Both weekdays were checked independently.
Worth knowing where that comes from, because it is not where most people look: commencement.pitt.edu is still on the 2026 cycle and carries neither date. The registrar’s calendar does.

That is the detail that decides your booking, and it applies to both.
A Sunday ceremony means the night you need is the Saturday. A family booking a conventional Friday-and-Saturday graduation weekend would be checking out on the morning of the ceremony.
No 2027 venue, and the old one was wrong
You will see the Petersen Events Center quoted for Pitt commencement. This page does not name it, and that is deliberate.
Pitt’s own 2026 page states the University-wide Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony was held at Acrisure Stadium, beginning at 3:30 p.m. Petersen is the basketball arena on campus; Acrisure is the NFL stadium on the North Shore, across the river from Oakland. They imply completely different parking, transit and arrival plans.
Pitt has published no 2027 venue at all, so this page says so rather than picking one.
Pittsburgh graduates twice in May
Worth knowing before you book, because Pitt is not the only ceremony in Oakland.
Carnegie Mellon graduates on Sunday 16 May 2027, two weeks after Pitt, blocks away. The city absorbs two graduation waves rather than one, and the separation means the two weekends do not compete for the same rooms. Carnegie Mellon’s detail is on its own page.
