What’s confirmed
Sam Houston State University, in Huntsville, TX, confirms via its own commencement schedule that spring 2026 ran three full days, Thursday through Saturday, May 7-9, 2026, across six separate ceremonies at Bernard G. Johnson Coliseum. The next round is nearer than that: SHSU’s registrar publishes the Fall 2026 Commencement Schedule as Friday 11 and Saturday 12 December 2026, two ceremonies a day (9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.) at the same coliseum. An earlier calendar entry showed Thursday 10 to Saturday 12 December; the registrar’s schedule lists no Thursday ceremony. Spring 2027 has not been published.
A genuinely small town’s hotel market
Huntsville is a mid-size East Texas town roughly an hour north of Houston with a real but limited hotel base of its own, a three-day, six-ceremony event is real, sustained demand rather than a single afternoon.
