Two Saturdays on the registrar’s page
SEMO keeps its commencement dates in the registrar’s graduation tables rather than on a separate commencement site. The Spring 2027 table reads “May 15, 2027 Commencement”; the Fall 2026 table reads “December 19, 2026 Commencement”. 15 May 2027 and 19 December 2026 are both Saturdays. The spring table adds that spring candidates “may only participate in the spring 2027 commencement ceremony”, so a December graduate does not walk in May.

The Families and Guests page: “Graduation will be held at the Show Me Center on Southeast’s campus. If you need directions, the address is 1333 N. Sprigg Street, Cape Girardeau, MO 63701.” One venue for every ceremony.
The time table is by college
The same page carries a “Time Table for Commencement”:
10 a.m.: College of Business and Computing, all departments; College of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math, all departments.
2 p.m.: College of Arts and Media; College of Education, Health, and Human Studies; College of Humanities and Social Sciences, all departments.
The table sits on the page without a date attached, which is how SEMO presents it: a standing split rather than a round-specific schedule. This page carries it as the university’s practice, and the November review checks it against the December instructions.
Bags, and the instructions email
“Graduates and guests are encouraged not to bring bags. If they do, they must meet the requirements outlined at Safety Protocols.” That is the only entry rule on the pages read on 20 September 2026; no ticket requirement is stated. The registrar’s Fall 2026 table lists “December 1, 2026 (approximately) Commencement Instructions Emailed”, so the detailed rules for each round reach graduates about two and a half weeks out. Ask your graduate to forward them.
One night if the college is a morning one
A 10 a.m. college means the Friday night in Cape Girardeau; a 2 p.m. college can be driven from Jackson or Sikeston that morning. The Courtyard downtown is a mile from the arena with 91 rooms and suites, and the I-55 cluster four miles west has about 300 more across the Drury Plaza and Auburn Place.
