A non-conflict worth recording. A first pass returned both “22 May 2027” and “16 May at 10 a.m.” from the same search, and it looked like two contradictory published dates — the sort of thing that made UC Santa Cruz’s page interesting. Reading Fordham’s page directly resolved it in one line: 16 May was the 2026 ceremony, 22 May is 2027. There is no conflict. The suspicion is logged here only so nobody re-derives it later.
The date you found may not be the date you need
Fordham states it plainly on its own page:

The school diploma ceremonies run separately, and their 2027 dates were not published at this check.
That is the single most expensive thing to get wrong here. A family that books around 22 May because that is the date on the website, and whose graduate’s school holds its diploma ceremony on a different day, has booked the wrong trip — or half of one.

The thing nobody expects about a university in New York
Fordham’s Rose Hill campus is in the Bronx, inside the largest hotel market in the United States. You would reasonably assume lodging is the easy part.
Fordham’s own Area Hotels page says otherwise. It lists hotels near Rose Hill with the mileage from campus in brackets, and the list reads:

The nearest hotel the university itself recommends is three miles away, and the list then runs north into Westchester rather than south into the city.
That is the university’s own assessment of what counts as near, and it is far more useful than any outside guess. Treat this as a cluster with no adjacent lodging, and plan the journey in.
How Fordham expects you to arrive
There is a clue in the same list. Alongside its Lincoln Center hotels, Fordham flags the Grand Hyatt at Grand Central as “very convenient for travel by Metro North Railroad.”
Metro-North’s Harlem line runs from Grand Central to Fordham station, beside the Rose Hill campus. That makes a Manhattan hotel considerably more practical than its thirty-five-minute drive time suggests — and it is the reason Manhattan belongs on the list at all despite being the most expensive option by a wide margin.
