Lehigh holds ONE commencement round a year, in May. GRADUATE COMMENCEMENT AND DOCTORAL HOODING is SATURDAY 22 MAY 2027 and UNDERGRADUATE COMMENCEMENT is SUNDAY 23 MAY 2027. Lehigh has not published a 2027 venue; its 2026 ceremonies were at Goodman Stadium. The rule worth knowing is the weather one, and it is easy to get backwards: Lehigh does NOT run these ceremonies outdoors regardless. It states that in extreme weather threatening personal safety a ceremony "will be moved inside Stabler Arena on Goodman Campus", with the decision made by 6:00 a.m. that morning.

Two ceremonies, one weekend, once a year
Saturday 22 May 2027: Graduate Commencement and Doctoral Hooding.
Sunday 23 May 2027: Undergraduate Commencement.
Lehigh’s registrar carries both, and it also carries something most universities on this site do not: an explicit statement that there is only one round.
“The University holds one commencement ceremony annually in May.”
Fall degrees are conferred on Sunday 24 January 2027 without a ceremony. If your graduate finishes in December, there is no December event to travel for, which is worth knowing before booking anything.
The weather rule, corrected
If you have read anywhere that the ceremony goes ahead outdoors regardless of conditions, that is not what Lehigh publishes.
Lehigh’s actual policy:
“In the event of extreme weather conditions that threaten personal safety (such as a severe thunderstorm, lightning, or tornado), a ceremony will be moved inside Stabler Arena on Goodman Campus.”
The decision is made by 6:00 a.m. on the morning of each ceremony.
So: ordinary rain, go and get wet. Lightning or a severe thunderstorm, the ceremony moves indoors and you will know before breakfast. Check Lehigh’s channels that morning rather than assuming the outdoor plan holds.
Why the indoor plan changes your guest list
This is the consequence most families will not anticipate, and it follows directly from the relocation.
Lehigh states that if a ceremony moves inside, each student receives a specified number of general admission tickets, allocated on the basis of RSVPs. Outdoors, no such limit is published.
Read that plainly: a bad forecast can convert an unlimited-guest ceremony into a ticketed one overnight. If you are travelling with a large group, that is a real risk to know about in advance, and a good reason for your graduate to complete their RSVP properly rather than treating it as a formality.
Venue: expect Goodman, confirm anyway
Lehigh has not published a 2027 venue.
Its 2026 ceremonies were at Goodman Stadium, 150 Goodman Drive, on the Goodman Campus, and Stabler Arena sits on the same campus as the wet-weather alternate. Both are almost certainly the 2027 arrangement.
Lehigh’s academic calendar gives the two dates. It does not name a venue, so anywhere you see one attributed to it, the attribution is not supported.
Absent rather than estimated
2027 venue: not published.
Ceremony start times: not published.
Guest allocation for the outdoor ceremony: not published. The only ticket rule on record is the conditional one that applies indoors.
Parking, shuttles and accessibility: not published for 2027.

Frequently asked questions
When exactly does Lehigh graduate?
Graduate Commencement and Doctoral Hooding on Saturday 22 May 2027, Undergraduate Commencement on Sunday 23 May 2027. Both from Lehigh's own registrar calendar.
Is there a December ceremony?
No, and this is worth stating because most universities on this site have one. Lehigh's registrar says plainly that "The University holds one commencement ceremony annually in May." Fall degrees are conferred on Sunday 24 January 2027 without a ceremony.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Lehigh moves it indoors. Its published policy is that in extreme weather threatening personal safety, such as a severe thunderstorm, lightning or tornado, a ceremony "will be moved inside Stabler Arena on Goodman Campus". The decision is made by 6:00 a.m. on the morning of each ceremony, so check before you leave the hotel.
Does moving indoors affect guests?
Yes, and this is the part to plan for. Lehigh states that if a ceremony moves indoors, each student receives a specified number of general admission tickets, allocated from RSVPs. Outdoors there is no such limit. So a wet forecast can turn an unlimited-guest ceremony into a ticketed one overnight, which matters if you are travelling with a large family.
Where will it be held?
Not published for 2027. Lehigh's 2026 ceremonies were at Goodman Stadium on the Goodman Campus, which is the reasonable expectation, and Stabler Arena on the same campus is the published wet-weather alternate. Neither is confirmed for 2027 and this page will not state one as fact.
How many tickets do guests get?
For the outdoor ceremony, no allocation is published, which normally indicates open seating. The only ticket rule Lehigh publishes is the conditional one that applies if the ceremony moves inside. Confirm with your graduate rather than assuming either way.
