The December ceremony

Friday 11 December 2026, 3:00 p.m., Millett Assembly Hall, Oxford.

One combined ceremony for all candidates, which is a very different event from the spring round set out below. Miami states plainly that for it, “Tickets are not required and no limit on the number of guests per graduate.”

If your graduate finishes this autumn, that single line is most of what you need: an afternoon ceremony, no ticket rationing, and a town that barely notices. The spring advice further down does not apply to you.

What’s confirmed

In Oxford, OH, Miami University’s own commencement page confirms Spring Commencement is Saturday, May 15, 2027, 10:30 a.m., at Yager Stadium, real dates pulled directly from the university’s official page. Students are asked to arrive by 9:45 a.m. with cap and gown.

• Saturday, May 15, 10:30 a.m.: Main ceremony, Yager Stadium
• Saturday, May 15, 4:00 p.m.: College of Engineering and Computing (Goggin Ice Center); College of Arts and Science (Millett Assembly Hall)
• Sunday, May 16, 9:30 a.m.: College of Education, Health, and Society (Millett Assembly Hall)
• Sunday, May 16, 10:00 a.m.: College of Creative Arts (Goggin Ice Center)
• Sunday, May 16, 2:00 p.m.: Farmer School of Business (Millett Assembly Hall)
• Sunday, May 16, 3:00 p.m.: College of Liberal Arts and Applied Science (Goggin Ice Center)

At the divisional ceremonies, individual students have their names called, walk the stage, and have photos taken.
