ASU Homecoming 2026 runs 15 to 21 November, and everything a travelling family would come for lands on the final Saturday, 21 November: the Homecoming Parade on University Drive, the Block Party on Old Main Lawn, and the Sun Devils against Oklahoma State at Mountain America Stadium. What ASU has NOT published is any time. It says so directly, and the reason is worth knowing rather than working around: "the block party and parade start time will be determined based on game time", and the kickoff is still to be set. So book the Friday and Saturday nights on the strength of the date, and expect the hours to arrive a few weeks out when television fixes the kickoff. University Drive closes from College Avenue to McAllister for the block party.

A week on paper, one Saturday in practice

ASU publishes Homecoming as 15 to 21 November 2026. Seven days.

Every event it has actually dated falls on the last of them. On Saturday 21 November: the Homecoming Parade along University Drive, the Block Party on Old Main Lawn in front of the Fulton building and Old Main, and Sun Devil football against Oklahoma State at Mountain America Stadium.

So for a family travelling in, this is a Friday-and-Saturday trip rather than a week, and that is the window this page passes to the map. One practical note for the day itself: University Drive closes from College Avenue to McAllister for the block party, which is worth knowing before you plan a drop-off or a route to a car park.

Nothing has a time yet, and ASU has told you why

This page could pretend otherwise by lifting last year’s hours. It will not, because ASU has been unusually clear about the dependency.

“The block party and parade start time will be determined based on game time.”

And the game time does not exist yet. ASU’s athletics schedule lists Oklahoma State at home on 21 November without a kickoff, which is ordinary this far out: television sets Big 12 kickoffs a few weeks ahead, and they can land anywhere from late morning to mid-evening.

That one unknown cascades. A noon kickoff makes the parade a morning event and lets a determined family drive home afterwards. A 7.30 p.m. kickoff pushes the parade into the afternoon and rules out driving anywhere that night. Until it is set, the honest position is that the date is bookable and the hours are not.

There is a related trap on ASU’s own site worth naming. Its schedule-of-events page lists the parade, the block party and the game against “Saturday, Nov. 21” with their locations, and carries no year and no times anywhere on the page. The date is consistent with 2026 and with the published Oklahoma State fixture, but an undated listing is not a schedule, and it should not be read as one.

Booking a Tempe November

The ladder above sorts by drive time: Mesa at about 11 minutes, Scottsdale at about 13, and a Phoenix metro behind them deep enough that you will find a room somewhere.

What you will not easily find is a room you can walk from. ASU’s only genuinely on-campus hotel is the 330-room Omni Tempe Hotel at ASU, which is the constraint at this cluster whatever the occasion. With a block party closing University Drive and a stadium emptying afterwards, walking distance is worth more on this weekend than on most.

Two things about November in Tempe are worth folding in. It is the pleasant half of the Phoenix year, so you are competing with ordinary leisure demand rather than only with alumni. And this is ASU’s second big November weekend: Family Weekend runs 6 to 8 November with its own home game against Colorado, two weeks earlier. If your dates are flexible, note that ASU negotiates discounted hotel blocks for Family Weekend with a cutoff of 7 October, and publishes no equivalent for homecoming. The Family Weekend page covers that.

The availability counts attached to the ring towns above were gathered against a spring commencement window, not a November Saturday, so read them as a guide to which market is deeper rather than a forecast for these dates. Unpublished and therefore absent here: kickoff, parade and block party times, the wider week’s programme, and any ticketing detail.

Frequently asked questions

When is ASU Homecoming 2026?

ASU gives the week as "November 15-21, 2026", with the events that matter to a visitor on the final Saturday, 21 November. Read on 11 August 2026. We checked the weekday: 21 November 2026 is a Saturday, which matches the home fixture on ASU's athletics schedule.

Who is the game against, and what time?

Oklahoma State, at Mountain America Stadium in Tempe. The time is not published. ASU's athletics schedule lists the fixture without a kickoff, which is normal at this distance because television sets it. That single unknown is why nothing else on the day has a time either.

What time are the parade and the block party?

Also unpublished, and ASU explains why in as many words: "The block party and parade start time will be determined based on game time." Both are on Saturday 21 November, the parade on University Drive and the block party on Old Main Lawn, in front of the Fulton building and Old Main. University Drive closes from College Avenue to McAllister.

Which nights should I book?

Friday and Saturday. The week officially opens on Sunday 15 November, but nothing ASU has dated falls before the closing Saturday, so a family travelling in wants the night before and the night of. If the kickoff lands in the evening, the Saturday night stops being optional.
