Three campuses, published as three

Commonwealth University’s commencement page does not give one date. It gives a set per campus, because Bloomsburg, Lock Haven and Mansfield each hold their own ceremonies in their own towns, 68 and 94 miles apart. Everything below is organised the same way.

December 2026, stated by campus

From the commencement page:

Friday 11 December 2026, Bloomsburg, graduate ceremony. Saturday 12 December 2026, Bloomsburg undergraduate ceremonies, Lock Haven ceremonies, Mansfield ceremonies.

Every entry reads “Location TBD” and no times are given. 11 December 2026 is a Friday and 12 December a Saturday; the page’s own weekday labels agree. For a December family the campus and the day are known, and the building and hour are what to watch for.

Spring 2027, one row with an asterisk

The academic calendar carries Spring 2027 commencement as a single window: *“Commencement | Friday, May 7 - Sunday, May 9”**. The asterisk resolves to “Subject to change.”

7 May 2027 is a Friday and 9 May a Sunday. Which campus graduates on which day inside that window, the times and the venues have not been published.

The asterisk is an instruction as much as a footnote. Spring lodging on any of the three campuses should be booked only on a cancellable rate until the university publishes the campus schedule without it.

The 2026 shape, by campus

The university’s own news releases describe Spring 2026, and they are the best guide to how each campus runs its round without being a promise about 2027.

Bloomsburg. Friday 15 May at 6 p.m. for master’s and doctoral degrees; Saturday 16 May at 9 a.m., 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., one sitting per group of colleges, all in Nelson Field House. Nearly 1,200 graduates.

Lock Haven. Friday at 6 p.m. for graduate degrees; Saturday at 9 a.m. and noon by college, in Thomas Fieldhouse. More than 400 graduates.

Mansfield. Saturday at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. by college, in Straughn Auditorium. More than 150 graduates.

A Friday-evening ceremony means the Friday night. A Saturday sitting means the Friday night, and a 4 or 5 p.m. sitting usually means the Saturday too.

Rules the university states for every campus

Tickets are required for guests and supporters at all ceremonies; the 2027 allocation is not yet published. A clear-bag policy is strictly enforced on all campuses. One hotel per town

Each campus town has one named chain hotel of 65 to 73 rooms, and Bloomsburg alone had nearly 1,200 graduates. Which town, which overflow, and why spring is cancellable-only are on the where to stay page.
