Both weekdays check out: 13 December 2026 is a Sunday and 16 May 2027 is a Sunday. That check is routine here because a date quietly carried forward from a previous year almost always lands on the wrong weekday, and it has caught several on this project.
The December ceremony is the nearer of the two, and it is the one most autumn graduates will be travelling for.
What the college has not said
No venue. No start time. No ticket policy. For either ceremony.
Ithaca College’s May 2026 ceremony was held at 10:00 a.m. in Glazer Arena, inside the Athletics and Events Center on the South Hill campus. That is very likely where you are going and roughly when.
Be careful with any source that names a 2027 venue. The college’s future-dates page gives the dates and nothing else; the Glazer Arena attribution comes from the 2026 ceremony, not from anything Ithaca College has published for these rounds.
Why indoors matters more here than most places
If the ceremony is in Glazer Arena, weather is simply not your problem, and that is a genuine relief in a way it would not be in a milder climate.
A December Sunday in the Finger Lakes can involve snow, ice on the hills around Ithaca, and a South Hill campus approach that is steep enough to be interesting in bad conditions. A mid-May Sunday can be cold and wet.
An indoor ceremony removes all of that from the list of things that can go wrong with your trip. Since the venue is unpublished, treat it as the likely case rather than the certain one, and if you are travelling any distance in December, build in time for winter driving regardless of where the ceremony turns out to be.
The 10 a.m. question
The 2026 ceremony started at 10:00 a.m. Nothing says 2027 will.
It matters because a Sunday morning start decides whether you need the Saturday night. From Syracuse, an hour and nine minutes away, a 10 a.m. ceremony means leaving before eight on a December Sunday. From Ithaca itself it means a normal morning.
