A three-day weekend, closing Sunday 16 May 2027

Morehouse’s Commencement Exercises are Sunday 16 May 2027. The whole round is published:

When	Event
Friday 14 May 2027	Commencement Weekend opens
Saturday 15 May 2027	Baccalaureate Service
Sunday 16 May 2027	Commencement Exercises

All three come from Morehouse’s registrar academic calendar for 2026-2027, and the weekdays check out.

Where that lives matters, because the obvious place does not have it: Morehouse’s commencement page carries no 2027 date. The registrar calendar does. That is the same split found at Pitt, Emory, Grambling and USC.

All three AUC colleges graduate the same day

This is the fact that decides lodging here, and it only became visible once each college calendar was read on its own.

When	College
Saturday 15 May 2027	Baccalaureate at Spelman, Morehouse and Clark Atlanta
Sunday 16 May 2027	Commencement at all three

Spelman, Morehouse and Clark Atlanta sit within about 400 metres of each other, and all three hold their 2027 commencement on Sunday 16 May, each confirmed on that college own academic calendar.

So the Atlanta University Center is not a staggered three-day event. It is one day, three colleges, one small market. Book for that Sunday and the nights around it, and book early: you are competing with two other graduating classes, not just your own.

The reunion is the thing that makes Morehouse harder

In the most recent published cycle, Alumni Reunion Weekend ran 14 to 17 May while Commencement Weekend ran 15 to 17 May, almost complete overlap.

That means Morehouse pulls two audiences into the AUC at once: graduating families and returning alumni, on the same nights. Neither Spelman nor Clark Atlanta carries that.

Morehouse has not published 2027 reunion dates, so treat this as a pattern to watch rather than a 2027 fact. If it repeats, Morehouse is the tightest of the three to book.

What we checked

Morehouse’s registrar academic calendar and commencement page were both read on 19 August 2026. The dates come from the calendar; the reunion overlap from the commencement page, which is on the 2026 cycle. Spelman and Clark Atlanta dates come from their own calendars.

Not published for 2027: the venue, start times, the reunion dates, and any ticket or guest limit.
