Georgia Southern's registrar publishes three Fall 2026 ceremonies, all at 1:00 P.M. on consecutive weekdays. TUESDAY 8 DECEMBER, undergraduate, Enmarket Arena, SAVANNAH. WEDNESDAY 9 DECEMBER, graduate, Jack and Ruth Ann Hill Convocation Center, STATESBORO. THURSDAY 10 DECEMBER, undergraduate, Allen E. Paulson Stadium, STATESBORO. The two undergraduate ceremonies are an hour apart in different cities, so confirm which one applies to your graduate before booking travel. Spring 2027 is listed as TBD.

The schedule, as the registrar publishes it
| Day | Ceremony | Venue | City | Time |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tuesday 8 December | Undergraduate | Enmarket Arena | Savannah | 1:00 p.m. |
| Wednesday 9 December | Graduate | Hill Convocation Center | Statesboro | 1:00 p.m. |
| Thursday 10 December | Undergraduate | Allen E. Paulson Stadium | Statesboro | 1:00 p.m. |
Three consecutive weekdays, three venues, two cities, one start time.
The thing to establish first
There are two undergraduate ceremonies, and they are an hour apart.
Georgia Southern runs campuses in Statesboro, Savannah and Swainsboro, and the Fall schedule puts one undergraduate ceremony in each of the two larger cities. Which one your graduate walks in follows from their campus, not from where they take most of their classes or where you have visited before.
Confirm it with them directly. Everything else on this page, and every hotel decision attached to it, depends on that one answer.
Worth noting that Swainsboro has a campus but no ceremony on this schedule.
Weekday ceremonies change the trip
A Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday round is not a graduation weekend, and it is a mistake to plan for one.
Guests are taking days off work and pulling children out of school. Travel is midweek, which usually means cheaper flights and calmer roads, and it means the town never experiences the single-night surge that a Saturday ceremony creates. That is why Statesboro’s hotel market barely registers commencement at all, which is covered with the numbers on where to stay.
The 1:00 p.m. start is the friendliest part of the schedule. It is late enough to drive in the same morning from Savannah, Macon or Augusta if you would rather not take an extra night, though for the Thursday ceremony in particular the night before is worth having.
Paulson Stadium is open air, in December
The Thursday undergraduate ceremony is at Allen E. Paulson Stadium, Georgia Southern’s football stadium.
Southeast Georgia in early December is usually mild, and a 1:00 p.m. start puts you in the warmest part of the day. It can also be wet, and an open stadium offers nothing to shelter under.
Georgia Southern had not published a severe weather or relocation plan for this ceremony when we checked. We are not going to guess at one. It is a reasonable thing to ask the college directly, especially if anyone travelling with you would struggle in the cold or rain for a couple of hours.
The Wednesday graduate ceremony at the Hill Convocation Center and the Tuesday ceremony at Enmarket Arena are both indoor venues, so this applies only to the Thursday.
Absent rather than estimated
Spring 2027: listed as TBD by the registrar. Application deadline 01/29/2027.
Tickets: no guest allocation or ticket policy published for any of the three Fall 2026 ceremonies.
Arrival times, parking, shuttles and accessibility: nothing published for these ceremonies.
Severe weather plan for Paulson Stadium: not published.
One sourcing note that matters if you check for yourself. Georgia Southern’s commencement microsite was still showing Spring 2026 only on 12 August 2026, with no Fall 2026 content. The registrar’s graduation-information page is the one carrying the current schedule.

Frequently asked questions
What is the full Fall 2026 schedule?
Three ceremonies, all at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday 8 December, undergraduate, Enmarket Arena in Savannah. Wednesday 9 December, graduate, Jack and Ruth Ann Hill Convocation Center in Statesboro. Thursday 10 December, undergraduate, Allen E. Paulson Stadium in Statesboro.
Why are there two undergraduate ceremonies?
They serve different campuses. Georgia Southern operates in Statesboro, Savannah and Swainsboro, and the Fall 2026 schedule places one undergraduate ceremony in Savannah and one in Statesboro. Your graduate's campus determines which one they walk in, so ask rather than assume.
Is the Statesboro undergraduate ceremony outdoors?
Paulson Stadium is Georgia Southern's football stadium, so yes, that ceremony is in an open-air venue in December. Georgia Southern had not published a severe-weather or relocation plan for it when we checked, which is worth asking about rather than assuming. Southeast Georgia in December is mild by most standards but it can be wet.
What time should we arrive?
Earlier than a 1:00 p.m. start suggests, particularly for Paulson Stadium, where seating is open air and unreserved. Doors and arrival guidance for these specific ceremonies were not published when we checked.
Do guests need tickets?
Not established. No ticket or guest allocation policy was published for the Fall 2026 ceremonies at the time of writing. Check with your graduate's college.
When is Spring 2027?
Not published. The registrar lists Spring 2027 ceremonies as TBD, with a graduation application deadline of 01/29/2027. Watch the registrar's graduation-information page rather than the commencement microsite, which was still showing Spring 2026 when we checked.
Where do we stay?
Statesboro if your ceremony is the Wednesday or Thursday one, Savannah if it is the Tuesday one. Statesboro availability holds steady through commencement week, so there is no rush penalty, but the surrounding towns are single-figure markets if you leave it very late.
